About the Business and the Woman Behind It
Hello and thank you for your interest in my products! Here's a little info about me.
My name is Shodney Richardson and I'm from a small town of Rockford, Illinois born and raised. I fell in love with all things beauty shortly after graduating high school in 2014. I attended cosmetology school and found that I was mostly interested in makeup and the artistry behind it. Just like any other beauty lover, I purchase ALOT of makeup and tools and I've always wondered what it was like behind the scenes of those brands. Now that I've decided to create my own affordable brand, I can experience those behind the scenes moments for myself. The good and the bad. I am learning more as the days go by and I'm sure I will reach some challenges somewhere down the road. But, of course, I am ready!
“Shop With Shodney” was just an idea or a dream (as some may call it) for about 4 months. Before I decided to take the leap of faith, I researched for months and thought long and hard about if this was something I indeed wanted to do. I knew that I was sure about being COMPLETELY hands on when it came to the cosmetic products I added to my site. I wanted to see how my products are being made, where my products are being made and most of all, WHO’S MAKING THEM. After going back and forth with myself, I finally took that leap and not only released my website to the public, but decided to make everything on my own! On January 20th of 2019, friends and family were able to support and purchase the products I handmade myself and soon after, I was receiving support from all over the United States! Heavily inspired by Supa Cent (the owner of THE CRAYON CASE), I DREAM of filling her shoes and becoming such an amazing icon to younger women like she is to me. I’ve had an EXCITING experience so far! (Of course some high and lows), but I don’t regret it one bit! I’ve cried, prayed, hoped and loved over my business for the past 2 years and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us later down the road!
Join me on my journey.....and "Shop With Shodney"
